Some commissions stay with you long after the final brushstroke. Recently, I had the pleasure of creating a truly special birthday gift for a client - a bespoke Goyard The Saint-Florentin wallet in green personalised with a hand-painted pet portrait and two meaningful initials.
The client approached me looking for something deeply personal for their loved one’s birthday. Rather than choosing a standard luxury gift, they wanted to turn a beautiful Goyard wallet into a one-of-a-kind keepsake - something that would tell a story every time it was used.
At the heart of the design was a beloved pet. Pets are family, and capturing their personality in art is always a privilege. Alongside the portrait, two carefully placed letters were added, representing the recipient’s initials - subtle, elegant, and full of meaning.
Working on the Goyard Canvas

Each stage of the process was done by hand:
- Preparing and protecting the surface
- Sketching the portrait layout
- Layering colours to bring the pet to life
- Finishing with durable sealing for longevity
The goal is always to enhance the original design - never overpower it - while adding a personal story through art.
